Bill Huebener  Class of 1986  -  Great Lakes, IL.

Just wanted to send in my alumni profile.  I have been busy lately and now I have a chance to send this. Graduated HFS  '86; Graduated Northeast High '90.  I have been in the Navy for 12 years now.  My job is Navigating submarines.  I have been on 3 submarines, two out of Norfolk, Va. and one out of Pearl Harbor, HI.  I now work at the boot camp in Great Lakes, IL.

I am married to Michelle for 9 years, and have one daughter who will be 2 this December.   My memories from HFS are playing with hollow blocks in Kindergarten.  Mr. G's humor and the big green box in his class room.  Trying to sing in music class.  And all the great teachers there.   I would like to know what my former classmates are up to.  bandmhuebener@ameritech.net      (December 2002)

Bonny Roam  Class of 1985  -  St. Petersburg, Florida

I wanted to first thank you for forwarding the Falcon Alumni Newsletter.  I really enjoy reading all the information provided, and most of all the "Where are they now" section of the newsletter.  It is very nice to see how old friends are doing.

I graduated with honors from Northeast High school in 1989.  I attended St. Pete Junior College.  I am currently employed at Aegon Financial Partners in St. Petersburg, Fl, where I am the Supervisor of the Account Transfer Department.  I am a mother of two wonderful Children, Alan 13, and Ashley 3.

I attended Holy Family for 8yrs and really enjoyed the teachers and the students. I loved Miss Brinsko's and Pam Ferguson's Glee Club and all the various concerts that we performed over the years.  I remember alot of of my friend's from those days, Stephanie Nelson, Brian Kelly, Connie Kaufman, Brandi Hughes, Rita Sulimay, Danny Duscheneau, Matt Delorey, Rob Stewart, Anthony Salliote, Kelly Daniels, Anthony Beckett, and of course my twin Sister, Anna Roam.  I am sure I am missing a lot of other close friends, it has been so many years.  I really enjoyed attending Holy Family and having such a close knit of friends over the years.

I wish all my old friends the best in all they do and I hope that life treats them well.  I thank Holy Family for the wonderful education and experience they have provided me.

If any one wishes to contact me, my email address is boo_bear27@yahoo.com

Thanks again for the newsletter.  (December 2002)

Anita Mizzoni Schulkers, Class of 1965  Ocala, Florida

“I graduated in 1965 from HFS.  I attended from 2nd grade on.   I have many fond memories of my grammar school days, and I went on to Notre Dame Academy.  I have 3 children ranging from 12 to 27 years of age and enjoy being with my family as much as possible.  I now work in a hospital in the Ocala, FL area in materials management.

Catholic education is the best possible education a child can receive.  I had 13 years of it and I also have put my own children through the same.  I appreciate the hard sacrifice my parents went through to give myself and 4 other siblings a complete education.  It really made an impact on each one of us.”   (October 2001)

Kathy Roos Cofield, Class of 1960

Kathy writes: “I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed receiving the newsletter from HFS.  I was a member of the first graduating class.  There were 12 of us: 9 boys and 3 girls.   I remember well the portable classrooms.  Our class shared a room with the class behind us for the 3 years I attended HFS.  Sr. Regina Grace was our teacher and principal.  The “office” was a section of the first trailer, and consisted of a single desk with a phone on it, and coolers for the milk, which was all we could purchase for lunch.   (Of course, there was no cafeteria or gym.  We ate at our desks and then went out on the parking lot to play.)  The 1st grade was next to the office and students were sent to answer the phone when it rang.  I remember being in the room one day counting out milk cartons to be delivered to the classrooms.  The phone rang, and a 1st grader came dashing in, picked it up, and said in a dignified voice, “Holy Family School.  Whadda ya want?”

I remember the older boys going out to cut the palmettos for Palm Sunday.  I remember a shortage of books.  We learned our basics well, the extras that today’s schools take for granted were not available to us.  One year someone’s mother volunteered to come in and teach art.  That’s the only year we had art as far as I remember.  Music was limited to singing.  I still remember “Hail Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean” and “The Erie Canal”.

I remember that 2 boys from our class, the Ratay twins, scored highest in the city in the high school entrance tests.   I remember Sr. Regina Grace as a strict disciplinarian.   I was in trouble more than once in those three years!   I hope that today’s students are making memories as we did.  Good luck to you all!”  (October 2001)
